AJudicial Magistrate’s court in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh has directed the police to register a case against BJP leader Vikas Mishra for allegedly creating a fake Facebook ID and posting defamatory and objectionable material against congress MLA Nilay Daga from it.

The order has been passed by judicial magistrate class 1 Poorvi Tiwari on a petition filed by Daga. Daga in his petition had alleged that the police on his complaint had found that the fake ID posting objectionable material against him was created from Vikas Mishra’s phone but refused to register any case.

Vinay Mishra is the Mandal president of the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party.

The court, while directing the police to present the copy of the FIR, observed that the crime was serious in nature and needed to be investigated properly.

Nilay Daga, while talking to India Today TV, said that he was forced to approach the court after the police refused to register a case.

“Objectionable and defamatory material was posted against me, my family and my business on Facebook from the ID of one Anuj Pawar. I complained about this to the police and thereafter they wrote to the company’s headquarters as per the required procedure in such cases and it was found that the ID was created from mobile number 9425002257. The mobile is registered in the name of Vikas Mishra. Realising that Mishra was a prominent BJP leader, the police pulled their hands back and refused to register a case, following which I approached the court,” Daga said.

Meanwhile, Vikas Mishra while talking to India Today TV claimed that the fake ID was made by an employee from his mobile number and no case was filed against him. “The police did its investigations and found out that I was not at fault and that no case was filed against me. But now, since the order has come from the court, we will challenge it in a higher court,” Mishra said.

Betul district police officials, while refusing to comment on the case, said that they had received the court orders and that the matter is under investigation.
