Aday after accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of being a drug peddler and an addict, the Karnataka BJP has now targeted former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy and accused him of practising bigamy.

The Karnataka BJP said in a Twitter post: “Signal jump, breach of trust, corruption, nepotism and more than anything else bigamy. Should HD Kumaraswamy, who always ridicules the mistakes of others, not be careful about these things?”

Kumaraswamy hit back at the BJP, saying there was no point in speaking about the personal lives of others and that it was a diversion from real issues.

According to reports, Kumaraswamy said, “Be careful. I can also speak about personal lives, since everyone has a history. We cannot even discuss things that they have done. Do not make me speak. I have information on all. BJP leaders will become a laughing stock if I speak about what the BJP state unit president Nalin Kumar Kateel had done to families of senior pracharaks in Mangaluru.”

“I have not hidden anything. I have spoken publicly and during assembly discussions over my mistakes. Some things do happen sometimes in life. It is in our hands to reform. I had taken a wrong path, and I have rectified it,” Kumaraswamy said.

On Tuesday, Karnataka BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel stoked a controversy, calling Rahul Gandhi a drug peddler and an addict. “Who is Rahul Gandhi? I am not saying it. Rahul Gandhi is a drug addict and drug peddler. It had come in media. You can’t even run the party,” he had said.

The Karnataka BJP’s attack on Rahul Gandhi and HD Kumaraswamy came ahead of the Karnataka bypolls which is scheduled to take place on October 30.
