On Sunday in Navi Mumbaii’s Kharghar  , Maharashtra Bhushan award event was conducted . In that event around 11 people died and due to heat related health  issues more than 120 people suffered severe complications. Yesterday night Maharashtra CM said “11 people have died from heatstroke during Maharashtra Bhushan Award ceremony in Navi Mumbai’s Kharghar.” Immediate medical assistance was provided to them . People who had  heatstroke were quickly rushed to Tata Hospital in Kharghar . Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited them in the hospital. Five lakh rupees would be given to the family of the deceased as per the CM and he also ensured proper treatment will be given to those who are admitted. “Medical treatment of people under treatment due to sunstroke will be free. The state will pay from its coffers for their treatment,” he said. Even if additional treatment is required CM directed officials to shift the patients to specialised hospitals. He said “Lakhs of people had come for the event and it went well. It is painful to see some of them suffer. It is a very unfortunate situation which is very painful for me .” To give timely updation of the current situation and for Co- ordination between patients, relatives and medical teams a  Deputy Municipal Commissioner-rank official of the Panvel Municipal Corporation has been deputed . Appasaheb Dharmadhikari  was awarded Maharashtra Bhushan Award and for this purpose the event was conducted. Lakhs of people had arrived for the event and this lead to stampede.
