On  January 2 and  the next day in Lakshadweep , Tamil Nadu and Kerala, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate multitude of developmental projects  by laying the foundation stones .  It covers various sectors such as  aviation, rail, road, oil and gas, shipping, and higher education. It’s expenditure is more than 19,850 crore .  At Tiruchirapalli – International Airport today, PM Modi will inaugurate the state of the Art new terminal building. More than 1,100 crore is spent for this building and has a capacity to serve over 4.4 million passengers annually. Bharathidasan University is hosting 38th convocation ceremony and Modi will preside over this. For many key projects , Modi is set to lay the foundation stones in Kerala . Modi will also inaugurate the  Demonstration Fast Reactor Fuel Reprocessing Plant (DFRP) at Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam. Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection (KLI – SOFC) project will be inaugurated by Modi . Lakshadweep’s Internet connectivity challenges will be overseen by Modi during his visit there. This will lead to an increase of internet speed for more than 100 times. Submarine Optic Fibre Cable will get connected to Lakshadweep for the first time after Independence since 1947. Many Anganwadi centres and  Primary health Care facilities will be inaugurated in Lakshadweep.
