 In Mumbai for two more days, there would be strike by app based aggregators.  Officials of the Maharashtra  Rashtriya Kamgar Sangh (MRRKS) met the State Transport Minister. Secretary of MRRKS, Sunil Borkar said  “Mr. Raote gave us an assurance that within two days he will convene a joint meeting with both the companies and will resolve the issues that the drivers have. We have decided that until that meeting is conducted we will continue our strike. Based on the outcome of the meeting we will decide the future course of action.” Mr.Raote added that Transport department introduced the city Taxi Rules,2017 to regulate app based operators. In Kurla, on Monday strike started with a protest outside Uber’s Office. An increase in per kilometer fare to Rs.18 for the first category is the driver’s key demand.  “Nearly 70% drivers have back issues because they need to work nearly 16 hours every day to earn enough to pay their instalments,” said Sanket Satam, a driver participating in the strike.
