On June 10, 2021, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, announced the cancellation of classes 9 and 11 examinations. The students will be promoted to the next higher classes on the basis of mid-term examination. The government also decided to start the admission procedure for students seeking admission in Delhi School for class 6 to 9 from today.

Few hours after the announcement, the minister has shared a detailed policy for the promotion of Delhi School students. He has also shared the class 6 to 9 admission policy. Also, the annual results of classes 9 and 11 in all government schools will be announced on June 22, 2021. Students can obtain their results through WhatsApp also.

Delhi School: Classes 9, 11 promotion policy

  1. Private schools in Delhi that have already conducted their annual assessments can follow the Directorate of Education guidelines with regards to promotion policy and declare their result.
  2. For schools that did not conduct any mid-term examination or students who could not take all mid-term papers will be assessed based on the average marks obtained in the best two performing subjects.
  3. Students who gave their mid-term in only one subject or students who were unable to give their mid-term exam in any subject or who did not receive minimum qualifying marks will be eligible for re-assessment.
  4. Above mentioned students will be assessed through assignments/ projects/ school-based tests etc., for the promotion to the next higher class. No additional physical or online exams will be conducted for the re-assessment.

As per the policy mentioned for Delhi school, no students will be called physically to collect the result. Instead, students will receive their results online or via phone call or WhatsApp.

Delhi School: Admission Policy for Class 6 to 9

  1. The admission for Delhi Government schools will be conducted online on the EDUDEL website, edudel.nic.in similar to the last year.
  2. The admission will be held in two phases; the first phase begins from today and will continue till June 30, 2021.
  3. The admission list based on the first phase will be released on July 14, 2021.
  4. The second phase for those unable to register in the first phase will be conducted from July 23, 2021, to August 6, 2021.
  5. The admission list for the second cycle will release on August 19, 2021.

Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia took his Twitter handle to announce the cancellation of classes 9 and 11 examinations. Delhi school students studying in the above-mentioned classes must go through the policy prepared by the Education Department.
