On  Friday more than 15 schools came under the scanner as parents, students and staff were panic struck.  Anonymous mails regarding bomb threats reached them . Napel and Vidyashilpa  in Basaveshwar Nagar was one of  the  first set of schools that were targeted. Opposite to Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar residence one of the schools is located and that was also threatened. DK Shivakumar told reporters “I was watching TV, the school opposite to my house also got a threat mail. I came here to check”.  “Till now it seems like a threat call. But we have to be very cautious about it,” he added. Following that many educational institutions had to face same threats by mail. The first step as a safety precaution was to evacuate staff and students from the premises. Bomb disposal squads arrived at the venues and started their thorough search process. But still no one has confirmed the bomb’s presence. The Bengaluru Police Commissioner posted  that “Certain schools in Bengaluru city have received emails today morning indicating ‘bomb threat’. Anti-sabotage and bomb detection squads have been pressed into service to verify and ascertain. The calls seem to be a hoax. Even then, all efforts will be made to trace the culprits.”  In 2022 same was the case in many schools but it turned out to be hoaxes.
