Delhi Metro Rail Corporation ( DMRC ) has intensified security checks ahead of the Republic Day Celebrations on January26 . Security arrangements are in full speed. As per DMRC due to security tightening during the peak commute hours there are chances of long queues at some metro stations. DMRC said “Therefore, passengers are advised to plan their journey accordingly and allow for some additional time for their commute during these days. Passengers are requested to cooperate with the security personnel during security checks.” The Provisions of the Metro travel code have to be followed by the passengers. Officials do remind passengers about this. Passengers belongings will be scrutinized. Inconvenience to other people should be avoided by co- passengers. So one should not carry prohibited items. Entire Delhi city has beefed up security arrangements due to republic day and the Ayodhya Ram Temple ‘Pran Pratishtha‘ (consecration) ceremony. In Delhi near the railway stations and inter – state bus terminals , night patrol staffers are on duty. It’s to check the hotels, resorts, guest houses. People visiting Delhi are being monitored. In view of the January 26th parade already more than 8000 police personnel have been deployed in and around Delhi city.
